4 Seasons Events is located in Gillette, Wyoming and is celebrating its 18th anniversary in 2026.

Our company got its start in August 2008 when the company’s owner was approached by his sister to help decorate her wedding reception at the American Legion Post 42 in Gillette. Wes Johnson (4 Seasons Event’s owner) quickly learned there was a shortage of event services in the area. He met with his sister and gathered her thoughts and ideas for how she wanted her dream day to look. She left the details up to him, and he started designing her reception.

The venue was very dated and unfortunately there was not a viable option to have the facility remodeled before her event. So, he brainstormed his ideas for turning the old gray wood paneled room into an elegant reception hall. Since there weren’t many options for renting the necessary equipment he got creative by purchasing large white bed sheets from an online wholesaler. He pleated and attached the sheets to the walls of the venue, draping the entire room from floor to ceiling. Then, he created his own electric chandeliers out of 1” PVC pipe and icicle Christmas lights. He negotiated with linen suppliers to rent all of the table linens - which was complicated because there was not a dealer that would rent to a private individual at that time. He hired a close friend to help create the floral arrangements and centerpieces. And he worked with family to create the menu and prepare all of the food.

The event was a success! There were approximately 160 people in attendance and no one had ever seen the venue look the way it did. On the next Monday after the event he was approached by a client that was having a wedding reception in the same venue the next weekend. That client hired him to redo the entire decorating scheme, thus making this client the first paying customer to have their event decorated. Wes quickly realized there may be a demand for a planning/decorating service in Gillette. The next year 4 Seasons Planning was born.

For several years 4 Seasons Planning continued to invest its revenue back into the company to build its inventory supply. Eventually Wes and his partner recognized that the company was more than just a planning service and changed the name to 4 Seasons Events to encompass more services than just planning and decorating. However, decorating is the most popular service offered.

Today, 4 Seasons Events provides four basic services: Planning, Decorating, Rentals, and Photo Booth. The company provides pipe and drape for trade shows, planning and decorating for weddings and corporate parties, decorating for large events such as the Rotary Ball, Black Cat Ball, Chamber of Commerce Awards Gala, VAC’s Pulling for Kids, and more. The company also hosts the annual Wedding & Event Expo, and co-sponsors many events in the community working in partnerships with Cam-Plex Multi Event Facilities, Gillette Main Street, and the Fur Kids Foundation.

Annually, the company contributes more than $50,000 in monetary donations, in-kind services, and discounts to local charities and fundraisers. Giving back to the community has been a core value to Wes and his team since the beginning, and 4 Seasons Events is proud to be able to help whenever possible.
